Here's tentatively the finished art. You can always stare at these things and see another adjustment you want to make. It gets hypnotic to look at it. Like a TV.

Vector me

I'm working on vector drawing my cartoon face I use for all my sites. Trying to turn it into a real logo. Also getting some practice t drawing vector shapes like my idol The Vonster. His tutorials were vital to learning this stuff for me. His blog is listed on mine here in the right column. Check him out; his stuff is stolen more than mine is! I will work on the shading shapes next. I could use a mesh style coloring but I will first do it in shapes. This is a lot of work but it's fun for me. I love learning new computer techniques. I spent so much of my career not knowing any of this so I take some pride in being an old dog with new tricks. This vector stuff allows you to blow up an image to the side of a building and not lose any sharpness. Vectors are resolution independent and are created with mathematical calculations. Makes me sound smert!

Sorry for the delay

I haven't put up a cartoon for at least a week now. Been busy, haven't drawn many new finished ones, been shoveling lots of snow. I don't know as it matters that much does it? I mean how many people are out there who are even looking at this blog or waiting for a new cartoon? I am most likely the only person who even comes here on a regular basis. Blogapedia was supposedly trying to sell the content somehow: cell phone images or whatever. They said it was to go public this year but who knows for sure. I could be just doing this for my amusement exclusively. But I could be wrong. If there is anyone out there who is actually reading this, comment or just say 'Yeah'. I would be interested to know. Then I'll post a cartoon for you.

The legend continues...

A kid who makes horror masks has been attempting to recreate the visage of the Titan of testosterone,aka Captain Hard-On in latex. He got this idea on his own without any help from me. One must wonder what's with kids these days. Why don't they go outside and get some fresh air or something. He said he'll send me a mask of my own so more power to him. It's kind of cool to get this kind of attention for a hero such as he is. I doubt there are any others remotely like him in the world of super comics. Trouble was, his book didn't sell. It kind of hit between audiences who were either looking for a super hero or for a sexy comic. It didn't have wide appeal (as if I ever thought it would). He was fun to draw and made me some money, who could ask for more? Perhaps someday in the future when people are less hung up on propriety he'll be rediscovered and there will be a feature film made of his exploits. By then I will probably be long gone unless medical science can intervene and extend human life to unheard of lengths. It could happen!

Global warming can be funny, if you try hard enough.

The Drawn blog has issued a challenge for better gags about whether global warming is real. Most of the stuff out there is pretty simplistic in it's approach. "If it's real, why is it so cold?" kind of stuff. Hacks! Pikers! I'm sure if you just think a while longer guys I'm sure you come up with something better. Expand your mind, don't just go for the first thing that pops into your head! A cartoon can always be taken a step further and usually it is the better for it. But we are by nature a lazy bunch. That is after all why we chose to become cartoonists. So we wouldn't have to put in a hard day's work! Or so we are always told by those who dig ditches. (I have never actually seen anyone digging a ditch but they must be out there 'cause there are lots of ditches around.) These two cartoons are 1.
